Broken timber pallets sorted for repair and recycling at a processing yard

Services

Recycling for timber that has genuinely finished

Broken stringers, split boards, contaminated or unsafe pallets cannot go back into service. We recycle those correctly, after everything repairable has been taken out of the stream first.

Our sorting order

Reuse first, repair second, recycling third

Sending a repairable pallet to be chipped wastes value that a repair would have kept, so every load is checked before it is committed to a route.

A pallet with one broken board is a repair job. A pallet with a cracked bearer, heavy rot, chemical staining or contamination is not, and only that timber goes for recycling or disposal.

Where timber leaves as waste rather than as product, we agree in advance what documentation you will receive and who at your organisation signs it off.

What happens to the timber

Typical recovery routes

  • Component reclaim

Sound boards and blocks recovered from otherwise scrap pallets and used in repair.

  • Wood chipping

End-of-life timber processed into chip for onward material use.

  • Panel and board feedstock

Processed timber routed to manufacturers who use recycled wood fibre.

  • Animal and horticultural uses

Clean, untreated timber streams where the material specification allows it.

  • Metal separation

Nails, plates and fixings extracted and recovered separately from the timber.

  • Documentation

Movement records and waste documentation agreed with you before collection starts.
