About Palletmove — the people behind the business

Alex’s connection with reclamation and recycling spans three generations. His father, Graham, founded J&G Metals, which later became J&G Environmental, and Alex grew up seeing first-hand how materials could be recovered, reused and given a second life.

After gaining two degrees in business and finance at Kingston University, Alex built a career across logistics, training, marketing, consultancy and waste management. Today, he works largely behind the scenes, focusing on Palletmove’s commercial strategy, business development and the office side of the operation. While Kyle is out meeting customers and keeping daily operations moving, Alex concentrates on the business behind the service.

Outside work, Alex enjoys motorcycles, photography, water sports and travel. Half Dutch and with roots in London, he now calls Hayling Island home. He has visited around 65 countries, with experiences ranging from exploring new places with his camera to watching England play in Miami and Atlanta at the 2026 World Cup.

One of his more unusual adventures was the Pompey to Pompeii challenge: riding a Vespa more than 2,000 miles from Portsmouth to southern Italy to raise money and awareness for Solent Mind. It combined his enthusiasm for motorcycles and travel with a cause that means a great deal to him.

For many customers, Kyle is the face of Palletmove—and the person they know best. Whether he is visiting a site, meeting a new customer or organising the next collection, he is at the heart of the business’s day-to-day relationships. Kyle is the person customers speak to about what they need and how Palletmove can help.

Kyle studied business at Southampton University, specialising in business development, and worked in oil and energy before joining the pallet industry in 2011. Today, he leads Palletmove’s pallet purchasing, collections, deliveries and daily logistics. Half Dutch and fluent in both English and Dutch, he also brings particular experience in European pallet purchasing and supply, with long-standing connections to the Netherlands.

Kyle and Alex have been friends since 2006 and were once housemates, long before becoming business partners. Twenty years of friendship means they know each other’s strengths—and have plenty of material for keeping one another grounded.

Outside work, Kyle’s enthusiasm for vehicles extends well beyond the working day. Trucks are a particular fascination, with owning a Scania firmly on his wish list. He has even considered becoming a trucking YouTuber. Boats, camper vans and motorcycles also feature among his interests: if it has an engine and the potential for an adventure, it is likely to catch his attention.
